The Registered Organisations Commission (ROC) delivered an interactive information workshop in Canberra last week, alongside 29 people representing employer groups and unions, financial specialists and government departments.
The workshop, held on 5 September 2019 at Hotel Realm in Barton, was the ROC's first workshop in our national capital. Topics discussed included financial reporting, elections, annual returns and notifications of change, officer and related party disclosures and handling whistleblower matters.
ROC staff also showcased some of the tools, products and assistance available to help registered organisations to meet their obligations under the Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009.
Feedback from participants was again overwhelmingly positive – a trend that has continued as the ROC has delivered these workshops over the past two years. Participants indicated that they appreciated the access to front line staff, and the interactive format of the workshop sessions.
The ROC's next workshop will be held in Hobart in November. Information about how to register for the Hobart workshop will be released in the coming weeks.
